Over the next 20 years, an estimated 400 million acres of farmland in the US will be up for sale by owners age 65 and older.
Land is becoming available for the next generation of farmers but with farm equipment, land, and education costs so high, farming is an incredibly daunting field for young people to enter. The Grange Farm School in California recognizes the immediate need to train farmers who can support themselves through profitable farm operations focused on production and distribution methods that emphasize sustainability. We are committed to making this program affordable and accessible to a wide spectrum of people. The only requirement for being a student is a passion for quality food and community relationships.
