Farmer-to-Farmer Field Trip: Tequio Farm
March 25, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeSeeking to improve your vegetable production skills this winter? Learn directly from the source, farmer-to-farmer skill sharing is one of the most effective ways to grow!
Hunter and Isa are entering their third growing season with Tequio, and the lessons they have learned are valuable to us all. Join us as we tour their farm, share a potluck lunch, and discuss with other food producers the challenges and successes of micro-farming tools and infrastructure.
Tequio has seen a tremendous outpouring of community support after their two greenhouses, partially funded by the Good Farm Fund, were destroyed in a storm. This field trip will help us learn about the solution they adapted for season extension, and we will have the chance to see demonstrations of some of their key pieces of equipment.
Tour begins at 11 am at the Ridgewood Ranch, south of Willits. Potluck lunch at 12:30, followed by continuation of tour and questions afterward. This is a free event that has been organized by UCSAREP, Farmers Guild, and the School of Adaptive Agriculture. Registration is required so that we know how many to expect, and carpooling/travel reimbursement is available if organized ahead of time.
11 am – 2 pm, Saturday, March 25th
