Learn how to turn fiber into handspun yarn!
Using the handspindle or the spinning wheel, we’ll show you how to start spinning your own yarn. We will learn about fiber preparation and give an overview of different types of tools used for making your own yarn.
We will explore techniques for spinning and plying as well as preparing your handspun yarn for use. Spinning fiber will be provided.

Description
Kat and Sarah have been spinning a combined total of over 3 decades and they use this wealth of experience to take local fleeces and turn them into yarn at the Mendocino Wool and Fiber mill.
Sarah began spinning in high school when she got her first spinning wheel from a friend. She has handspun professionally and now spins yarn at MendoWool commercially. She loves the technical yarn design aspects of wool processing.
Kat has been involved in textile and fiber arts as well as teaching for over 10 years. She loves the creative process of handling and spinning the wool. She now spins professionally at MendoWool.
