Humane Chicken Slaughter

When: Monday, April 17th
Learn the theory and practice behind humane slaughter and butcher techniques with meat birds. Beginning with a discussion of the anatomy and physiology of birds, we will then learn about the critical points to be aware of during the life span of a meat bird and during the post-harvest time. We will then slaughter 25 meat birds with opportunity to see the process from start to finish. This class will be $15 for the day with lunch included.
8am – 9:30 am Class on Types of Meat Birds & Slaughtering Techniques
9:30-12:30 Slaughtering 25 Meat Birds
12:30-1:30 Lunch
1:30 – Depending on when we finish
