Farmer-to-Farmer Field Trip: Fortunate Farm

March 3, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Seeking to improve your vegetable production skills this winter? Learn directly from the source, farmer-to-farmer skill sharing is one of the most effective ways to grow!

This March we will be hosting two field trips for farmers to exchange knowledge and skills.  First to Fortunate Farm and then to Tequio Community Farm!  Gowan is well known for her fascinating collaborations with North Coast Brewing, soil microbiology, and carbon sequestration.  Her unique approach to compost building and application is well worth the trip, and her creativity extends into every other part of her business as well.  On this field trip we will cover compost production and application, keyline or contour planting, and propagation techniques for her vegetable, berry, and flower enterprise.

Tour begins at 11 am at Fortunate Farm in Caspar.  Potluck lunch at 12:30, followed by continuation of tour and questions afterward.  This is a free event that has been organized by UC-SAREP, Farmers Guild, and the School of Adaptive Agriculture.  Registration is required so that we know how many to expect, and carpooling/travel reimbursement is available if organized ahead of time.

11 am – 2 pm, Sunday March 5
